Father christmas is nearly here

Gearing up for our 1st xmas as a little family, pressies are all wrapped kept finding pressies for mummy so she's doing ok.

It was Rich's funeral last week, I managed to hold it together long enough to say my words still can't quite believe he's gone and a few things catch me out now and again mainly when I think about Sam and the kids. Think the words came out ok stumbled and mumbled a bit but hope i did the big fella some justice. Jack was in his snowman suit on the way down but we tried out the new chair in the car and he got to sleep straight away only woke up to throw up all over himself.

Changed him then awaiting the car outside the place he screeched alot and Sue had to take him outside as the service started as he screeched some more. Had a slight accident in the morning and shaved all my hair off but couldn't let him go having less hair than me somehow it felt right.

Do afterwards was good some great photos of him and Jack was a star with the ladies.

Finished work this week nice to have a few days off before xmas, think we're all ready with food and everything.

Jacks been a bit crazy the last couple of days screeching and flapping his arms and legs about alot but seems alot happier even though his still got a bit of a rattley cough

All down with colds

Why oh why can't people not infect other people, we've all come down with colds me first then Jack and Mummy. Jack was up most of the night screaming mum took most of the night shift I brought him down stairs so she could try and catch a bit around 4am finally put him in the carrier but when finally went off to sleep listening to the advent tree taking him back and tried to put him down but he woke up again. Then after another feed sleep with us.

Next night wasn't too bad, we had the neighbours over for drinks and a mince pie Jack wasn't too bad that night but the morning lots of screaming and wimpering. A cough and a temperature and liked to fall asleep on my shoulder which he hasn't done for a bit. After some more early hours involving propping on a lot of pillows on the sofa, Sue took him to the docs the next morning where he threw up on her in the waiting room.

Had the facias etc done on the house

Stop the clocks...

Some awful awful news today. My uni pal best buddy, the man I was best man for, a kindred spirit, an absolutely brilliant bloke, my friend, has died.

My friend Rich lost his battle with cancer I just can't take it in I'm numb. He was (uh argh was) dianosed towards the start of the year and the treatments one by one didn't work but he was upbeat till the end and was always fighting it just wish there was another day to joke with him I'm so glad my boy got to meet his uncle Rich even if he will not get to know he's great sense of humour and honour. And thoughts turn to Sam Bex and Harry oh I can't imagine the pain.
Harry I promise I'll tell you all the stories about your dad if you want to hear them later on.

It hurts so much. I'll miss you wingman. so fucking not fair

Special Moments

New things are coming fit and fast and it's seems to be speeding up too.

Movements on the food front, quite a few different foods.

Just come back from a weekend up at Paul, Ruth and baby James'. Had a great weekend very knackering. We had a lovely dinner Saturday night, Jack was pretty good all weekend. Was funny when James cried and Jack joined in in moral support and vice versa, but I think they were both tired. Though he even woke up in the restaurant to cry as James cried and then went back to sleep when he stopped; mammoth sleep that all round town and through lunch and back home, if only that could be the night maybe I'll have to rig up a treadmill with the pushchair on it!!
Saturday night was a bit trying as he wouldn't stay asleep due to all the excitment he had, with so much new stuff to look at and take in.
James has a lovely rocking horse which he loves to rock in, Jack had a go and seemed to love it toy tests before you buy it's great.

Spotted a kingfisher on our walk through harborough.

Jack tried a rice cake and devoured it, another weapon to our feeding arsenal.

He nearly rolled over in the rollover house but not quite. When we got home he had learnt a new skill in being able to sit himself up in his chair/bouncer thingy.Very proud look on his face or was that the huge poo he did.

His fan club at the garden centre cafe is steadily growing. Went over to the new asda and he quite liked all the lights in town and fell asleep on my shoulder as we walked back to the car.

I'm not going to mention the football. d'oh.

Father Christmas is coming and Normal football service resumed

I give up, I just don't get you lot.

Well Santa is on his way, and Sue, Jack and I went up to Crews Hill to get some more wedding bits but more over in the garden centre we went to see Santa. Now this was for Jack honest......who am I trying to kid Sue and I have been coming here for years and have always wanted to go but now we have a little excuse.  You get to go on a little train ride through the tunnels of Santa's workshop the elves, animals and clown band and stuff to the grotto to see a santa with a real white beard. Jack was very good and didn't scream or cry we had a picture and he got a baby ball thing for his troubles.
Then the footy......moving swiftly on.

Nice evening he's screeching and stuff alot. can pick up things and swap them over between hands can't quite sit up yet but gives it a good go.

Sunday went over and saw ma and pa and popped over the road to see Aunty Pat and Ivy, again Jack was very good and I had to avoid him watching star wars on the telly....we're going to do that together!!
He gets very hungry and very tired but is great. Had pears and baby rice for breakfast.

Mummy's team won too

Just a quick catch up, Jack's screeching happily at people can sort of sit up with cushions to stop himself sliding to one side, and can nearly roll over onto his side and over. Eating lots and sort of drank out of a cup the other night, but not sure if that'll happen again.

Was a bit cranky tonight cheeks are a bit red nose a bit stuffy I think and he's due a poo.

Burnley beat Chelsea last night and mummy couldn't cheer as she was feeding Jack.
(need to mention it to Grandad)

Mummy trying more ways to get out of the hoovering

Week a long time in football

and a 5th month olds life.
Arsenal have won again (Man Utd 2-1) so all is right with the world and I sat in the posh seats, cheers lads.

Batty bat flies again ( Halloween bat baby costume)

Jack's had a good week still not happy about pooing but he's quick to eat food in large quantities so will learn the consequences. Not so keen on avocado, bleeeuggh mummy.

Getting a bit windy on the walks and the weather's turning a bit nasty too. boom boom

Some pictures from when Grandma and Grandad were down

Cousin Sammy
first Snow!!!
In the pub

This is the bridge on our epic long frozen walk where all the big lorries were going.
Whilst Grandma and Sue were shopping for weddingy stuff Jack, Grandad and I went for a 4.5 mile walk down a little road which turned into a muddy lane then a muddy track across a field then icy muddy track then muddy track with big lorries and very muddy field and then path less road around Crews Hill all in the silver cross oh well 'tis was an adventure.

Solids in equals solids out

Well after all that wolfing of food and time means it has to come out. He didn't like that at all ! Lots of crying and straining then screaming poor little fella and there was sooo much. Put me off sausages for a bit filled one nappy then as i changed him and put the new one down he filled that too.
Grandma and Grandad have been down for the week and Jack's cousin Sammy came Friday so he's had lots of people to play with. It's been great having them to help out and lovely porridge in the morning.

Crappy football is spoiling everything, bloody Arsenal sort it out you overpaid underachievers Arsene get some help

Everyone is asleep.

Holidays are coming

Mishap

Right had my first accident with Jack last week I had sat him on the bean bag and reached to get him a toy and lost my grip on him and he slid on to his head on the floor with a bit of a bump.
Bad daddy ! Jack shrugged it off with a few tears; daddy a few more.

Sue's going to blame all future bad behaviour on this and me from now on.

Paul, Ruth and James popped in on Saturday.

My friend over at http://mrbaldylymphoma.blogspot.com/ had some bad news so a bit down about that.

Jack's got a cold and had a bit of a high temperature so a few nights of broken sleep for the both of us.

Speak of the devil

See I should always read what I have written and not tempt fate.

Major poo incident tonight that covered nearly everything he was wearing and led to a bath in the kitchen sink.... which he absolutely loved splashing about getting us all soaked.

Hoorah I've worked out you can drag the images to where you want them.

I have become his favourite chew toy.

4 months old

Jack was 4 months old 10 days ago it's still flying by we're now into October and having the best spell of weather all year, though I'm sure I'll jinx it with that.

He's so big compared to the photos of the first months has a high pitched scream to his arsenal and a look where he sucks his bottom lip in and looks very pretty?! Back to a walk around the park and then around the block in the evening, no major poo incidents to report of late. Went home for ma and pa's 40th wedding anniversary Sue, Chris Sophie and Abigail came down too popped up and saw Paul's ma and Tim was over there.

Had another lot of jabs last week screamed but seemed to be ok by time got home.
Sun streaming in the window here.

Grumpy gus

Well just a quick update as I've been noticing my other friends blogs are being updated a lot more than mine and i've been shamed in to doing something.

He's getting bigger and developing more of a personality as the days go on. Now usually have to take him for a walk inthe pram around our local park in the morning to get him to sleep and then around the block when I get back from work to give pooir Sue a bit of a break. Been quite grumpy of late crying a fair bit, just gets so frustrating he's tired your tired all would be solved if he just went to sleep but no logic hasn't taken hold of my son as a good idea yet.

Sue got the bus to Edmonton the other day wish I wasn't working (well you know what I mean) so I could be involved in the adventures.

Got alot of books from the Book People so have Thomas the Tank Engine and Winnie the Poohs stories to read now should be fun.

Jack can now grab both feet and roll onto his side now...time to get the rubber matting for our tiled floor methinks. He also has a nice fetching flat cap which sue got the other day he does look rather gorgeous in it.

Wedding stuff goes on and on
More soon

It's a year to the day when we found out we were going to be having him what an excellant journey thats been and also to the day we got engaged in a gondaler coming back down from Wildcat mountain in the states.

3 months, lots of people

Right Jack is 3 months today and growing strong.

We've just been on holiday, just before we left Uncles Paul and Tim, Aunty Em and Freddie came to see us and then he's met Uncle Peter, Aunty Anne Marie and Vincent. The up to see Grandma and Grandad and all the cats.

Got a few things with the wedding sorted save the 25th of July 2009 in your diaries everyone.

Lots of running around trying to find Grandma a wii fit to go with the wii we got just before coming up.
Jacks been a bit grumpy of late when he's getting tired. He had me in tears at Pete's and we had to go for a walk in the rain before he dropped off.

Grandmas was good, she's got him a lot of stuff from the boot fairs, got to go out in his pram for up there, a 3 wheel AT thing and had a walk round Oswaldtwistle mills and gnomeland. Few walks in the carrier to get him to go off to sleep.

He met his cousins Sam and Luke, which he scared and threw up on respectively, Sue's sister Aunty Linda, who he was a little confused by ; (you look a little like mummy but hairs different and stuff)
Great uncle Len (Grandma's cousin) and mummy's friend Gillian and her gang.

One of the highlights of the trip was Jack's first festival Colne's Rhythm and Blues festival on the only sunny day of our awful summer which he mainly slept through (needs more baby facilities, just a room or two)

Then on the way home he met my sister Aunty Sue Uncle Chris and cousins Sophie and Abigail.

He's constantly eating loads and starting to put things in his mouth usually when hungry.
At grandmas he stayed in a big cotbed so when we got home we decided to take down his crib, rearrange the bedrom and put up his new bed. I joked we'd be up till 2am putting it together and I wasn't too far wrong (midnight) lots of swearing and funny postions with the bed on top :)?
But it looks great and he seems happy with

Off to work for a rest.

All smiles - 7 weeks

Latest developments

He's getting bigger about the 12 1/2 lb mark now but the way he's eating it'll be 13+ by the time you finish reading this note most probably by the time I've finished writing it.

He's feeding every hour and half / two hours at the mo which is a little tiring for Sue.

Apart from out growing a lot of clothes and getting heavier he's also started smiling at the two of us which is more lovely than you can possibly imagine.

He's making sounds at us aswell so we have conversations and he looks at me with something akin to "No silly daddy what are you talking about I asked when mummy is coming with the milk!"
Works a little dull but I might be able to work from my office one day a week, need to get onto my accountants about that.

Jack doesn't like the tickle me elmo that Sue got he screamed quite alot. Still enjoying the morning time we have before I goto work and managed to get him to take the expressed bottle again before bed a few times now. Pulling the teat back out a bit and maintaining some pressure when he's sucking seems to have helped.

Bath time is good though he didn't seem as keen the other night. Think we've passed the 700 odd photo mark this week.
My DS is great though nearly makes me miss my stops on the tube.

It's my birthday...i said it's MY birthday

Had Nana and Grandad around on sunday and i cooked tea pork shoulder and steamed veg best one yet so sue said. Jack was pretty good, still eating loads and getting bigger.

Monday and Tuesday pretty good days then it was my birthday on Wednesday, so i took the day off work. First off the weather bloody horrid come on it's July for f%&$ sake!! wanted to goto the park.
Ended up putting the rain cover on and going into town Wetherspoons for lunch steak and pint again yay. then a bit of shopping. Lots of stupid people in town getting in the way and pushing past grrrrrr

Sue was rather tired so tried to get some sleep and me and the little lad had some time together but again he hasn't grasped the idea of what daddy's birthday is about yet. Rather grisely all day wouldn't take his bottle from me, dudn't get to play any games or with my new DS..
Not the centre of attention anymore oh well.

Last night took a bottle of a big feed thought he was going to play up again but then drank the lot more like that please!

Saturday, 5 July 2008

good day bad day

Hmm had a good day yesterday and a bad one went out to outbeak steak house and got some food, it's like being human again Jack was great then around sainsbury's in the trolly, got home and he wasn't eating much and then I started to give him his bottle from yesterday took 2 thirds of it and then projectile vomited all over himself and me.

Then he's not been pooing that much either and generally not settling and making his funny noises started to get a bit worried.

Changed at 4am again not alot of poo and he was sick over me again hmmmm

Then 6am change he'd been making funny noises and farting alot and then squelchy noises of him letting rip change the nappy and it's full to overloading hmmm first diarrhoea case then carried on after the nappy was off runny yellow green stuff everywhere, thankfully we have terry's in place

He seems a bit better now that's all out.

Another week whizzes by

Blimey Jack's been with us over 4 weeks now.

He's getting bigger 9lb 4 or so last weigh-in.

Been back at work a couple of weeks now still hard to leave, Sues doing and fantastic job, talked to work about trying to work from home 1 day a week every now and then but as a contractor don't hold out much hope. so may just take the day off now that I know I've got work till November unless anything happens.

Big news that yesterday why tried out the breast pump and got 2oz out so I was able to feed him for the first time....they say some times they have problems taking it....Not our greedy gannet... yeah it's milk just give me the milk!!

Emotions still stuck on wuss and had another happy blub on the sofa with Sue with Jack in my arms afterwards. Took a little while sorting out all the sterlizing of equipment and stuff but again i'm sure thats something we'll get into more a process of. Thank god for all the lock and lock we've bought from the QVC outlets shops. One with the sterlizing solution in and a lid to hold the bits under the water, then another to hold boiled water to rinse them in. Then the microwave sterlizer one for the bottles and teats. Might get one of the electric steam sterlizers.

Morning good this morning managed to grab another star, some coffee, couple of changes (yes Jack you got my leg good shot) and a cuddle. Good Times.

Week at work alright

Back at work week went well though don't really like leaving them.

Good to see all the guys at work and they got us some lovely presents and a card. Sue's ma and pa came down wednesday and it's helped. With been out a bit into town and a wander to the garden centre and then the park without Sue just Jack, me and the in laws to be. Jack slept the whole time!

He's been doing ok (touch wood) with sleeping, still eating a lot though but that getting a lot easier, and weeing and pooing to his hearts content.

Lots of photos hopefully get the folks on the video tomorrow and friends Paul and Ruth and their son James are calling in tomorrow ( uncle paul and aunty ruth... well i'm keeping up the old traditions)
More later

Back to Work

Rest of yesterday went ok and we both managed to get some sleep.

Up this morning took Jack downstairs so Sue coul dget some sleep. We had a cuddle and he slept on me then in the bean bag till around 9.30 we both felt pretty good so decided to go into work but hard to leave them really.

Not a bad day at work catching up and looking at a few things and show/tell about Jack and everything
Good news that my contracts been extended till end of sept and my friend over at http://mrbaldylymphoma.blogspot.com/ had some good ish news too.

Tried to video and then send photos over msn but firewall at work doesn't allow it useless.
Phoned and she seemed ok and Jack was feeding and sleeping lots.

Got back from work he's still feed had another cuddle both tea watched the footy then on with all the grandparents sent latest batch of photos

Quick nappy change without incident and he's feeding now again before bed.

Happy Father's Day

Yay my first father's day!.

Now I'm a man of the world I've seen some things, done most of them, but wasn't quite ready for the present Jacks just served up for me on my first fathers day.

He's just had a bit of a feed and smelled a bit ripe so thought we'd change him after yesterdays troubles had everything to hand including Sue to help in case.

Take nappy off yes quite a bit lift legs to wipe .....SQUIRT!!! projectile shit reaching over some 2.5 feet, getting some on the sheets, blanket, rug on the floor and even a bit of the new ikea chair! Bloody hell mate. What have I done to deserve that?

Sort of prepared myself for projectile vomit from comments from marc at work but projectile poo??

Happy Father's Day to all of you out there especially my father cheers dad enjoy it while you can!

Argghh

Blimey what a day. A good day yesterday walked into town with Sue and Jack to get night light thing and nappy wrapper. Had lunch at subway walked back and had a good evening and stuff I think.

Today not so good every time I seemed to have him he wanted to cry and wriggle about and every change was crying wriggling and then wee ing all over everything, requiring more changing more wrigging and much more crying. just couldn't seem to do anything right.

Jack had a bath with me tonight which was neat but he was a bit hungry and therefore grisley and then the last wee filled change wiped out the relaxation and everything. just got to try and remain calm and organised for the eventualities.

Ho hum well it's another day now, 2 weeks old today here's hoping it's a better day.
Might be back to work on Monday, how will Sue cope? Her mum and dad might be coming down next week but it depends on the tanker strike for petrol etc

Calm blue ocean calm blue ocean......no it's a green ocean of wee and I hate the water anyway arghhh

It's official he's Jack

Good day yesterday assembled the pram (silver cross dazzle) yesterday and walked the 10 mins to the civic centre to get him registered seemed to enjoy the ride Sue pushed there and me back. Filled in the forms and he's named.

Then walked to the doctors to get him registered there too another 5 or so minutes then back jm was a bit knackered.

Jack seemed to like to be pushed around the house in the pram so we had a few laps through the kitchen and around through the lounge whilst JM had a big nap

Then the big event Nana and Grandad came, they'd bought lots of pressies and a big list of shopping we'd asked for. Nana had a big cuddle and Grandad held him for a bit and we got some more photos. Lovely miffy blanket. Sue came back down and we had a good chat and a nice afternoon I got us some dinner and folks left around 8 when we started getting a bit tired.

Sue swaddled Jack and we got some sleep together and then during next feed around 6 this morning got another couple of hours in the spare bedroom.

Lazy day today sleeping a fair bit lots of mustard nappies watched Andromeda Strain and the footy trying to get ITV HD to work with my sat card in the PC no luck as yet. Sue and Jack asleep on me on the sofa very lovely.

Steak for tea tonight.

To cry or not to cry

Hmm the old story do you let him cry a bit when trying to get him to sleep or not, modern thinking seems to suggest not but we'll see.

Had some issues with him seemingly wanting to feed constantly but trying to get into a routine at night and Sue managed to get some sleep with him last night I had a big sleep so feel fine and dandy today.

Brought him downstairs early this morning and Jack took a snooze on the bean bag (which has been absolutely bleeding brilliant; footstool and day bed all in one - I suppose he feels a bit cushioned in it hugging him so to speak. Sue came down after a couple of hours and fed him till he fell asleep again and then put him down whilst we had breakfast and some drinks. Carried Jack around the garden to get some fresh air (well fresh as it gets here)
Changed him and the poos are def a mustard colour now hoorah Gave him a bit of a massaged with some oil as his skins shredding and he had a little sleep on his mat on his front which he seemed to love. Dressed him his new mommy's cheeky monkey outfit.

Took some more photos a few in his Arsenal bib yay! spoke to the folks on MSN to get stuff for tomorrow. Sat and has a bit of a cuddle and then put him down again whilst I got some Galaxies cleared in Mario.

Now dozing in the beanbag again
What a glorious day out there looked a bit cloudy and thundery this morning.

Fingers crossed ok tomorrow register Jack and maybe the doctors and then grandad and nana are coming to see their grandson.

Much better day....(touch wood)

Ok seemed to have a better day yesterday feeding seems to be going ok, we all got some sleep.

Manage to get some cuddles in with Jack and Sue, sort out some bank stuff, do some hoovering, put up the fly net around the bathroom window, watch the footy, and get a game of mario kart in as well as as pop next door to visit the neighbours. Even if it was only for 10 minutes, before our little gannet wanted feeding again. Sue seems to be doing ok and looks good. trying to get into the routine of all going to bed together then when he wakes for his night time feed I go to the spare room grab a few hours sleep then get up take Jack after early morning feed and go downstairs for a cuddle and read then wander around the house with music playing from my phone in my pocket, then Jack dozes off so I can put him down grab a cup of coffee and get things ready for the day ahead.

My word the boy can wee and he knows when to do it too, you wait and wait and then you think ok he's not going to... then squirt!! - over his shoulder, impressive!

Mid wife has just been and checked on a few things and thinks he's latching on ok too so yay.

Registration and my folks on Wednesday so just compiling a shopping list for them.

Still need to register at the doctors but so far doing ok

Football football

Yesterday wasn't the best of days I felt a bit out of sorts and a bit useless and helpless I know I'm not but I suppose it's just the flip side to the europhic state in the first few days, and the feeding situation was geting to me a little and I doubt that helped Sue, after watching our first game of football the Swiss vs Czech Rep of Euro 2008 Sue tried the football clutch hold which Jack seemed to get better latch, so fingers crossed a little better but sometimes he still has issues with his botom lip. Got some sleep and what a lovely day it is outside.

Will put up the pictures of the little persons clothes on the washing on the line he he

Ok next / task challenge Anneka please?

The trials and tribulations

Well out with the shields, change of position back to square one and off we go again.

After last nights panic JM decided to switch things around and change feeding position and this seems to have some success but I'm tired so not sure.. Posted some pictures up too.
Some other good news our friend's little boy who's one and a bit has just started walking on his own yay Vincent, Pete and Anne-Marie well done.

Right back to bed more later

Bathtime

Forget to mention that yesterday was bath time for the first time, set up the foldable inflatable bath in the spare room filled it with water and had some more hot water to put in to get it to the right temperature according to the bath thermometer with the hippo on it. Ferrying it from the bathroom meant i think it was a bit cooler, Jack seemed to enjoy it a first washing his head then cried a bit when washing the rest of him in the bath but nothing too drastic.

Today's been a mixed bag, I managed to get out to get some more stuff we needed and the midwife turned up as I was gone managed to get the sleep suits we wanted and they had turn out cuffs to enclose his litle sharp fingers wahay.Jack's seemed to sleep better video called with the folks and I got a lot of sleep, had a cuddle for the afternoon and he slept through most of it.Note to all breast feeding is an art stay with it but don't panic too much feed the baby anyhow is the top order of the day.

Back to hospital

Bit of a parent panic poo's still green and watery and we talked ourselves into mucus well we phoned the hospital and they said in to a and e big panic so in the car seat the very happy child abeit a bit runny and smelly is carted off to a and e with the dregs of friday night society couple of other parents with twisted ankles broken arms now knowing glances exchanged . Finally get in to triage. Does some tests, get shown into cubicles lovely bloke, the way kids doctor should be, thank you, sorry to get you out for nothing, yes apparently it can be like that, but right to bring him in to be safe, we leave with the shame of 'You don't know what you're doing' ringing in our ears or thinking in our heads, but the shields are holding.

More suprises

jm took the night again with much better results he did'nt sleep much but as food was on hand did'nt cry as much. He did however have a bit of a runny nappy 3 and green ! But i was oblivious to all this as i was in the spare room getting some sleep. Now in the new chair with junior asleep on my chest again after a big wriggle. Posting from my phone.

Better day today

Bit of better day today still very tired, midwife came again and JMs alright, breast feeding still a bit of an issue but he's feeding we know this due to the 'little present' he gave us a little while jm did the last one so I got the joy of this one.

Change in colour and consistency bit more fluid and this one had a lovely odour, thanks little jack.

Hoping for a bit of a quiter night tonight but we'll see hey

Wednesday, 4 June 2008

Now the real fun begins

BM now known as Jacks mother JM had a few stitches after the birth and the epi took until 4am to wear off causing a minor panic when leg gave way on way to bath to clean up.
I went home after move to maternity ward bit scared to leave her.

Bath and Jack daniels for me, lots of checks and tests the next(same) day, which were all ok, on the monday before being let out to go home ....with the baby...... on our own...!!!eeeeeeekkkkkkkk

Had a rough couple nights as Jack thinks nights are for partying as he did in the womb, I've stayed up the first ones but JM did last night and had a tough one as is worried she may have pulled the stitches ouch...Good god I love her! goto sleep Jack like you are now!!

Black treacle poos out the way (about 5)

And one thing i'm sure i didn't see in the books bloke be prepared to cry at a moments notice to can't sense the emotional rollercoaster ride enough.

Nothing yet

Oh well it's now Sunday and nothing has happened yet so we're off to bed, back into hospital later on. Well it's now June so not another birthday for May.

Right - Lets get started....panic

Hi just wanted to get this stuff written down, please excuse the mess i write how i talk, it just comes out..
Expecting our first child and it's getting to d day now Bumpy's mum (BM) has not had an easy one sick and heartburn for 7.5 months eeek.

Lets begin

OK cool the bumpy's deciding it's going to have mums time keeping and be on time.

After dinner BM says "I think my waters have broken, but I'm not sure."...."OK", i squeak, "what do we do?"

Phone call to the mid wife and it's bags in the car and off to the hospital. Manage to park in the car park no barriers no guard hooray.

Wander in we're both pretty calm , for myself I'm sure it's the glass of wine I had with dinner.

Get in and see the doctor who does the checks and confirms yes they indeed have broken, right so not going back to work on Monday then.
Contractions not happening though so some blood checks and put on the fetal heart monitor machine.
Right it's wait to see what happens back tomorrow at 10am maybe induction on sunday???!

Bumpy's VERY active but all looks OK so we're sent home around 2.30am interesting night jaunt and my minor fear of hospitals and all stuff gory doesn't show

Not much sleep that night, contractions have now started woken up a 7.30 with them lots of back rubs.
By 8.30 they're pretty regular every 2 mins for 45 secs a pop maybe it is going to come quickly after all?? ha

Bags back in the car off to the hospital again, drop off BM at the entrance and get in the car park again yay
Takes a bit to get in and then to get seen bit of panicing sets in and no breakfast I'm a little fluttery but with back and foot rubs BM takes it in her stride.
Seen by lovely midwife fetal monitor and checks and stuff again only 1cm dilation d'oh in for the long haul.
Bumpy's a bit quiter today. Advised on TENS postions, will give it a try when we get back home again as we're sent away again, need some food.

BM hits the bath and it's a little better contractions slowed down in the hospital, I finish Mario Kart yay
2-3 hours in the bath bit pickled but it's helping
Some ready brek for BM doesn't stay down long cold toast a little better. Get the TENS machine out and apply the cold patches and fire it up. She's happy seems to be helping yay
Hmm broke my tooth not the best of times, hey mouth come on!!

We need some sleep after last night so hit bed in the day time, snooze for a bit... missed Dr Who d'oh.
OK need some proper food now not sure if Bumpy's going to make an entrance today now and everythings gone calm in the house with the tens machine think BM will keep it on.
Chiken or steak?
More later if possible might see if I can post from my phone if we go back in
