Long time since posting - RIP Wildo

Been a bit crap at keeping this up to date.
Lots has happened - I've got married it was an absolutely fantastic day.

Jack is getting bigger and learning stuff faster and faster, he has lots of teeth, can say lots of words likes dancing to stuff, babbles away to everyone, he's a little loco - not sure where he gets that from.

I WILL post more about this and some photos which was what sort of held me back a bit of late.

But the main reason I'm posting today is to remember my friend my wingman Richard Wildman who died a year ago yesterday.
I miss his laughter alot, we could pick up, almost to the sentence, from what we were talking about last, even when we hadn't seen each other for months. A true gentleman the world is a sorrier place, but he'll always be with us. And we'll miss you like the deserts miss the rain.
Some spooky songs heard today
Sam is absolutely golden, she's done so much Rich would be very proud of her.

Big man here's to you

My boys back home

Well after a couple of days in hospital having antibiotic treaments through a drip the rash improved and Jack's got a lot better. We were allowed home last night but had to come back in for another treatment 5 minutes into the latest drip the consultant comes in to have a chat with us and said the tests from the earlier days were a bit inconclusive and the head bug man didn't think the +ve was all that bad and wasn't causing the rash so she didn't think we need anything more. So we had the canula taken out and got sent home... hoorah.

He's so much bettter today walking about (nearly running) shouting and pointing at things talking loudly in supermarkets climbing all over us trying to get everything, trying to get in everything, hitting us etc etc.....hoorah?

Spotty poorly boy

Well nearly a year since I last had a night on my own with Sue and Jack in hospital quite a different feeling this time. Last time tears of joy and whiskey in the bath as Jack had just been born tonightnot so happy  his fever has turned into a rash and Sue took him into north mids A&E (thanks for driving them there and staying with them Carrie). About six hours of waiting to find out that Jacks was being admitted into Chase Farm overnight (now looks like a couple of nights). They got an ambulance ride and i followed in the car.
All new worrying levels trying not to spook myself by looking stuff up on the internet.
Off to bed and try and get some sleep I hope they manage to get some too

Poorly boy

Jack's come down with something over the last few days. Got a temperature and doesn't know what to do with himself.

Off some of his food but still drinking and wants bananas and yoghurt. Lots of cuddles not much wriggling. Lots more teeth coming through too.

Where's he gone?

Hmm eventful week Jack's mobile.

His walking has been coming along very well and he could walk around if you held one hand . Then he started pushing himself along on the bed only slight problem it was on his face - not a good plan son.

Then downstairs the next day or so he'd managed to be on all fours and then pulled his knee up and lolluped along in a sort of crawl. eeek then obviously got his dad's appetite fo trying to do everything at once saved his party trick for last.

Nana and grandad had come up for Nanas birthday and had given Jack some of his birthday presents one of these was a small plastic bulldozer which skates across our tiled floor very well and gets Jacks attention. So, with Sue sitting on the end of the sofa and Jack walking along the sofa and standing holding the other side, I got the toy and rolled it their general direction from the mid dining room. The next thing Jack runs sort of past and into Sues legs at least three steps unattached. whoa.

We've got him a little wooden truck thing with a small sack of potatoes to weigh it down a bit (Sue used it to wheel the spuds in and they haven't been able to be moved) and he toddles up and down the length of the house (can't turnabout yet) usually screeching as he goes as he does walking up and down the street, in the pram or doctors surgery.

Sue believes there are more teeth about to pop out the top ( i'm not sticking my fingers in there, the doctor found out thats not a good idea  well she should have warned him or at least talked to him first)

Pickles the nabaztag rabbit lives again and well done burnley the only footy to be mentioned here again.
Laters folks

oh good luck to Sam (and her brusied toe) on her 3 peaks challenge i'll sort the donation out soon promise

Blimey I'm getting slack

Nearly a month since my last post blah well we've done a fair amount.
Went to Nigel and Sue's wedding at the start of April
We went up to Sue's ma and pa's for easter. I climbed the big hill (Pendle).
Jack's found he loves balloons and likes to play with the cats, he gets the cat's stick with the string on the end and whips it around like a crazy fella which the cat like at first but when he gets too close and just hits them they're not as keen.
He liked going for walks round grandads lawn, we also went to York for the day.

It was also mummys birthday Jack help decorate her little cake.
Sue and I escaped on a few occasions very weird Jack not in the car, had a couple of meals out. One a lovely pint of Landlord and a free vension burger. Lots of walks but managed to get a couple of punctures in the up there pram bloody thorns.

He's learnt a new horsey game and can show you how big he is which is excellant - so big! He loves going out in his walker in the back garden he's been eating rocks. He had a bit of a mouth infection not sure if the two were related??

Weekend Away

Had a lovely weekend away this weekend, first popped over to see Sam Becks and Harry to see they're doing and have a cup of tea and some cake. The extension and new kitchen look wonderful, had fun with Harry giving him some piggy backs around the kitchen and seeing his stuff and things and seeing how becks was doing at school, Jack took quite a shine to her. He was very happy to have lots of lovely ladies to look at and wanted to join in the lads games and wanted to follow them about. I still miss Rich very much, but he'll always be in my head.

Then drove up through Oxford and up the A40 to Glocester and Cheltenham to newnham on servern to see Mark in his deli and to bake the wedding cake. He's having quite a hard time of it all.

Went to the Forest of Dean and had a fantastic day out walking along their sculpture trail and through the trees Jack enjoyed himself.

It seems like new things every day at the moment he's nearly walking and nearly talking, I taught him to stick his tongue out (i'm VERY proud) along with the raspberries before he's a cheeky lad. He's such a charmer stares at all the ladies and smiles if they notice him.

Time for tea more later.

Clever lad

Seems to be a smart little fella.

He seemed to do quite alot this week.
His second tooth has poked it's way through properly now so the front two at the bottom are out they're quite sharp so him chewing my finger is not so fun now.

He can turn himself around 360 degrees when he's sat on the floor.

We went to Clarks and got him his first shoes 4 and a half F - nice red ones, i think walker speed has increased. He loves toddling up and down the lounge whilst you hold his hands.

Eating lots  gave him some cheese, mousakka, bit of curry, raisins and he helped sue by putting the ones he didn't want anymore back in the little goodies box.

Still not sleeping at night very long and still doesn't like the car seat, just sat him in it to leave, this afternoon, and he puked up his ellas fish pie and mash - smells a bit better check the car and maybe sponge it a bit more.

Very tiring week with work and lack of good sleep. Popped home sat night for nigels stag do for a beer good to catch up with people hope the rest of the night went well looked like it could have been a good laugh.

Sue's first mother's day today ahhh we got her breakfast in bed Jack held some mini daffs and there was a pink camelia on the tray of crossiants and freshly squeezed apple juice and the cards, she had a lovely day she says.

Still frustrating stressful times

Well it's been an eventful couple of weeks.

Jack's not been feeling too feel the last couple of days more cranky and more fitful sleep. I've been on the receiving end of his ends a few times, the pooing has been like each time I say it can't be any worse the next day it has been I've seen him poo more times than I really wanted and some people have never witnessed the act with theirs. Just how does a baby that is what two feet poo something that's nearly two feet long.

Came home the other day and picked him up after he coughed and made his choking sound after he'd been walking from the lounge to the kitchen whilst I held his hands above him.
The poor little fella threw up all down my arm that's the worse that's been too....oh hang on I've not learned from my experiences above there have I.

Worked from home today and he's had really hot little cheeks not sure if it's teeth coming through or what having trouble getting him to sleep, but he did fall asleep cradled in my arms which was a nice change just shame daddy didn't work out the logistics of putting him into the cot the right way and cradled him in his other arm.D'oh.

We've sort of had the first bit of Jack responding and repeating a sound we make....a raspberry! this tickles me no end BLLLLEEERRRPPP how exactly do you write a raspberry sound. Quite funy to see all his spittle going everywhere hey little things hey?!

We've got him a groovy xylophone which he enjoys bashing and he's taught himself to bash the pop-ups with the beaters to make them fly out into the air.

Works been a bit stressful of late think people are making poor choices about things. Had a good day out with Paul and Tim around London I was very drunk indeed.

Sues doing ok bit tired but more lovely every day  she says pass the bucket.

Biggest bath ever

We took Jack to the Tottenham Leisure Centre today for his first visit to a swimming pool they had a nice kids pool with a gentle sloping floor split into to two sections. JAck got changed with Sue and we met outside , his eyes were like saucers - Wow that's the biggest bath ever...He loved it he had his water wings on and we swished him around in the pool like a fish he splashed around and laughed a lot, we really had fun, float on his back and front he held his head up very well didn't cry and didn't splutter on too much water. In the pool for about an hour i think.

We went over to Lidl to pick up some shopping ( some idiot drivers in there) then onto to booker to pick up sweeties for the wedding.
Got back rigged up some guttering for the lean to at the side stop the water running down the wall and cleared up the garden rubbish into the big green waste sack.

I cooked a lovely tea tonight got the offer from M&S I had the scallops and chorizo for starter sue had a goats cheese tart then steak and chips with some salad then begian souffle for dessert together with a lovely bottle of red wine, malbec. Oh heavenly. what a day

Toothy

Whilst holding Jack the other day he likes to chew daddies fingers more ouch than usual this time as our little boy has his first tooth breaking through at the bottom. Hmm might have to not let him chew my fingers anymore.

He's a bit like a meerkat at the mo.

We've got a new mattress for his bed but not sure he likes it as it hasn't solved his waking up throughout the night as i hoped (ok very slight hope but hey) and we now have trouble putting him down to sleep maybe a few days time when he getting used to it.....please....

Getting better at the walking when you hold his arms he can make it to the kitchen now.

8 months old today

Little Jack is 8 months old today and he's not so little anymore.

It's snowing tonight.

Went to morrisons to do some shopping and have some lunch, there were more small children than ever before eating so only got a high chair without a tray on, so we pushed him close into the table. He started to try and eat the edge of the table so we moved him out a bit. He's also started doing a rocking backwards and forwards thing so these events combined to him headbutting the table with a loud bang. Ouch he seemed fine as sue nipped in quickly to distract him with Mr elephant I felt a bit queasy.

Oh and he's snoring like a trooper at the mo. (snuffy nose and a bit of a cold perhaps)

Time flying

Had another minor accident this morning when Jack decided to launch himself off the sofa onto the floor with a bump on his head.

He's having fun scooting about in his walker and testing out his voice, still not sleeping but eating loads.

Holidays

Well what a lovely few weeks it has been.
Our first xmas together as a little family had a lovely time just us opening a few presents xmas morning and then Nana and Grandad came for xmas day. We had Phurducken (4 bird roast Pheasant, Turkey, Duck and Chicken) bloody gorgeous.

Jack loved opening his presents I suggested to Sue that we open most of his presents because next year he'll want to do it all himself and we'll have none!

He has a lot of toys now

Boxing day my sister brother in law and my two nieces came for the day so more presents, more drink and hot pork sandwiches throughout the day. Really good time took ma and pa sis jack sophie and abigail to the park, ma and pa took jack and abigail back home whilst sue sophie and I hunted down an open playground with swings and slides to play on.

Drove up to Sue's mum and dads the next day, Jack slept for most of it was sick once again. Went up the A1 we had a stop at blyth services before the sat nav took us a weird way through bradford.

Lots of food and drink, lovely walks with grandad in the off road pram walked around the reservoir, lifting the pram over small walkways and stiles and streams, across frozen fields and past lots of sheep.

New years eve lots of food sues sis kids stayed over and had a quiet ish one watching the fireworks on tele and playing on the wii. Had a lot to drink and finished the evening with large glasses of baileys, had my first hangover in a good year or so.

Jack has now learned to rollover back to front and then front to back, we've got back home and he's wheeshing around in his walker and now starting to grab and pull anything within reach. Making new sounds and doing stuff new everyday you can almost see him getting more intelligent. Waving to people and when you say hello it's great.

I'll pad this out some more and add some photos later
bye for now
